Unicoi County Apple Festival...

NEARLY 200,000 PEOPLE TO CONVERGE ONTO UNICOI AND NEARBY JONESBOROUGH TENNESSEE THE WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 2nd, 3rd AND 4th...

With the combination of our inaugural Freedom Rally to be held in Unicoi, along with the Unicoi County Apple Festival , our section of the state is sure to be a hotbed of activity.

The first Unicoi County Tennessee Rally For Freedom will feature guest speakers, meet-up groups and organizations that have all come together for a common cause: THE CONSTITUTION of the United States of America!

Our Founding fathers would be ashamed of where our Country has gone. Our small east Tennessee Unicoi County aims to return us to our Roots of Heritage including public acknowledgement of the right to bear arms by the passage of a county resolution declaring such! Sheriff Kent Harris and our County Commissioners are to be commended with  the passage of this resolution acknowledging the 2nd Amendment and this right.

Less government, health freedom, conservative fiscal spending, state sovereignty and just plain good music and fun are part of the celebration. Come join the excitement as we rally for returning to our founding principles and a celebration of our heritage. The public is encouraged to attend this free event.

The Unicoi County Apple Festival is consistently named one of the Southeast Tourism Society's Top Twenty Events of the Southeast and Unicoi County is known by many as one of the finest apple growing counties in the Southeastern United States.

The Unicoi County Apple Festival began in 1978 as a way to celebrate the local apple crop. The festival is a celebration and presentation of the unique heritage, foods, crafts and culture of the Southern Appalachian region. This tradition continues the first Friday and Saturday of October each year, as more than 100,000 festival goers gather each fall for the annual event.

The 2009 National Storytelling Festival held just 20 miles to the northwest in Jonesborough, is now into its 36th year and is acclaimed as one of the Top 100 Events in North America. Over 100,000 people have joined this event each year since 1973.
